The WP4 has already run two workshops on policy. We now are running a third workshop which, like the other two, will be held online on 30th November 2022, from 14:00-17:00 CET.

The end objective of WP4 is to have in place policies for the ENVRI-Hub catalogue and its use and extend this to the interaction between the ENVRI-Hub and EOSC. Users accessing the catalogue will discover and contextualise the digital assets offered by the ENVRI RIs, and from the chosen metadata records will access services or other digital assets at the servers of individual ENVRI RIs. It is thus essential that we have appropriate policies at the RIs to permit /control such access. ENVRI RIs, in providing metadata describing their digital assets to ENVRI-Hub, control which of their digital assets are visible and under what conditions (e.g. licensing).

Workshop 3 builds upon the policy concepts and framework agreed upon in workshops 1 and 2. The intention is to show examples of policy documents, compare the different approaches in ENVRI RIs and come to an agreement on the policies required for the ENVRI-Hub catalogue, ensuring compatibility with the policies of the individual ENVRI RIs.
