The 5th Nordic ENVRI workshop was organized at the University Centre in Svalbard (UNIS) in Longyearbyen from 5th to 7th of September 2016. The core topic of the meeting was Arctic research infrastructure collaboration and the workshop gathered altogether 35 participants representing different Arctic RIs, initiatives and programmes. Three different main themes were discussed during the meeting: 1) Current state of the Arctic Observation systems and Research Infrastructures, 2) Station and site collaboration, and 3) Arctic data collaboration and data portals. Addition to the presentations and discussions, the workshop participants had a chance to participate in a field trip to EISCAT Svalbard Radar at Gruve 7 fjellet and a permafrost site at Adventdalen.
