What is ENVRI week?
ENVRI week is a week dedicated to Environmental Research Infrastructures. During the runtime of the ENVRI-FAIR project it is organized once a year. ENVRI week hosts ENVRI-FAIR project related sessions as well as several other sessions targeting different groups of stakeholders.

The registration site can be accessed here. Please, register as soon as possible, at the latest by 6th January 2020. By registering, you only confirm your attendance to ENVRI week. It does not secure you the accommodation.

Open ENVRI Community meeting especially important for the RIs not directly involved in ENVRI-FAIR
The environmental research infrastructure landscape is evolving constantly. Moreover, not all the Environmental Research Infrastructures are directly participating in the ENVRI-FAIR project. The Open ENVRI community meeting aims at enabling dialogue and better facilitation of the project results beyond the project consortium and the participating research infrastructures. It aims at informing the community as well as new projects and initiatives emerging in the environmental landscape about the latest developments, highlighting how they can benefit from them. Last but not least, the meetings connects the community with other relevant initiatives and projects. More information about the meeting can be found here

New Chair of the Board of European environmental Research Infrastructures (BEERi)
The BEERI members have selected a new chair for the Board. Ingrid Puillat from IFREMER will replace Sanna Sorvari Sundet in the role. Ingrid is representing JERICO, the RI for Marine coastal observatories.
Thanks Sanna for your long-time efforts as a BEERi chair and congratulations to Ingrid!
Helen Glaves elected as the new president of the European Geoscience Union
Helen was elected to serve as EGU President for the term 2021–2023. Helen will be inaugurated during the EGU plenary meeting on 4 May 2020 in Vienna, Austria, serving first as the EGU Vice-President (President-Elect) for one year. The elected candidate will then serve as EGU President for two years (2021–2023) and finally as Vice-President (Past-President) for the fourth year.

RISCAPE International Landscape Report launch event
The Report is the main result of the RISCAPE project and illustrates the position of the European RIs by research area in the international RIs landscape. All fields of ESFRI activities are considered: Energy, Environment, Health & Food, Physical Sciences & Engineering, Social and Cultural Innovation and e-infrastructures.
The event will be a great occasion to get all the information regarding the Report, with a specific introduction and illustration of the methodology realised by the authors of the Report, namely the partners of RISCAPE project. The participants will have also the possibility to exchange opinions, good practices and express tricky points during an interactive debate in the afternoon session.
A final event can be the start point for further actions and collaborations!

The RI-VIS Africa-Europe Symposium will be held on Monday, March 23rd and Tuesday, March 24th, 2020, in the Wolfson pavilion and foyer on the Health Sciences Campus of the University of Cape Town.
Our two day symposium will bring together staff from the European infrastructures and South African and other African research infrastructures and institutions who might be interested in collaborations. We also invite representatives from relevant funding agencies as well as policy makers to join. By bringing together the right people we hope to create collaborations and initiate networks in a sustainable way so that all stakeholders benefit.

ENVRI community booth
The ENVRI Research Infrastructures will again join their forces, demonstrate the collaboration and increase their visibility by organizing a fourth joint ENVRI community booth. The booth will serve as a meeting point for the community, but also place where the scientists attending the EGU can learn more about the Environmental and Earth system Research Infrastructures and the data and services they are providing. The Research Infrastructures will present themselves and their services through the talks organized around the grand challenges and other related topics.
