As LifeWatch ERIC advances towards its mission of becoming the primary and most complete research infrastructure for the study of biodiversity and ecosystems in Europe, it continues to recruit specialised staff to provide essential services to the broader scientific research community.

Two new vacancies have opened up in the LifeWatch ERIC Service Centre in Lecce, Italy, which specialises in developing ICT user interfaces, building relations with European counterparts and coordinating communication activities across the seven member states.

The Scientific Community Networking Officer will connect and develop synergies with European and international communities in biodiversity and ecosystem research, map and analyse trends in contemporary science, define key research areas and find ways to network with a wide range of key stakeholders.

The Administrative Officer will be responsible for the efficient functioning of the Service Centre from an administrative, financial and managerial point of view, ensuring that the office runs smoothly on a day-to-day basis, including some budgeting, recruitment and marketing. The ideal candidate will have a University degree, experience in administration duties and relevant software packages, excellent interpersonal skills and proficiency in time management.

Contracts are for an initial 12 months and may be extended into permanent positions. All applications can only be made through the LifeWatch ERIC portal and all documentation must be in English. Applications for both positions close at 23:59 on Monday 26 April 2021.
