In the face of the public health crisis caused by the coronavirus outbreak, and the resulting impact on the daily lives of all of us and on the ability of research organisations to effectively collaborate across countries, ESFRI has decided to extend the deadline for the presentation of new Proposals for Research Infrastructure Projects for the ESFRI Roadmap 2021 update to allow more time for the preparation of high quality applications. The new deadline will be 9 September 2020.
“We need to assure fair treatment of all research infrastructures in proposal submission to the ESFRI Roadmap update 2021, even under the pandemic outbreak of Covid-19 influencing our daily lives and working conditions”, said ESFRI Chair Jan Hrušák.
This extension will not influence the plan to present the new ESFRI Roadmap in Autumn 2021.
An updated detailed timeline of the Roadmap 2021 milestones, as well as adjusted information regarding the relevant national procedures, are currently being prepared and will be published as soon as possible.
At the same time, ESFRI is gathering information on the special actions, services and resources that Research Infrastructures are developing to facilitate the research and innovation needed to address the COVID-19 outbreak and its long-term consequences. This information will be soon made available on the ESFRI website.
More information on ESFRI Roadmap 2021 can be obtained at https://www.esfri.eu/esfri-roadmap-2021 and via the ESFRI National Delegates.
