Practical Guide to the International Alignment of Research Data Management

Science Europe launches the second, extended, edition of its highly popular Practical Guide to the International Alignment of Research Data Management. Originally released in 2019, and following its successful uptake by many organisations, this new extended edition now includes a brand-new rubric with guidance to support the evaluation of Data Management Plans (DMPs).

Research funders, research organisations, reviewers, and individual researchers all have different needs regarding research data management. Science Europe has been working towards the international alignment of data management policies and practices to support researchers in their efforts and foster data management as part of the research process.

Open Science aims to make knowledge accessible for all. It requires the unhindered dissemination of research outputs and aims to improve research efficiency by supporting data discovery, accessibility, interoperability and re-use” explained Dr Thierry Damerval, Member of the Science Europe Governing Board and President of the French National Research Agency (ANR). “With more research organisations committed to improve data management, this Science Europe resource will truly support the further alignment of policies across Europe and beyond.
